چکیده

The use of virgin and recycled plastic macro fibers as reinforcing elements in construction materials has recently gained increasing attention from researchers. Specifically, have become more attractive owing to their large-scale availability, negligible cost, low environmental footprint. In this work, we investigate the benefits related fully-recycled synthetic dispersed reinforcement Fiber Reinforced Cement Composites (FRCCs). light reference performance FRCCs including polypropylene (PP) only, mechanical response composites reinforced with polyolefin filaments treated a sol-gel silica coating polyethylene terephthalate (PET)/polyethylene (PE) cylindrical draw-wire is here assessed through three-point bending tests. Remarkably, polyolefins lead notable enhancement terms peak strength post-crack energy dissipation capability. This improvement ascribed both flattened shape surface coating, which turns out be very effective at strengthening fiber-to-matrix bond. On other hand, PET/PE fibrous generally leads lower toughness, if compared fibers. However, no reduction stress evidenced. Balancing significance sustainability framework circular economy approach, hand can regarded promising candidates for innovative structural applications.

Mechanical Characterization of High-Performance Steel-Fiber Reinforced Cement Composites with Self-Healing Effect

The crack self-healing behavior of high-performance steel-fiber reinforced cement composites (HPSFRCs) was investigated. High-strength deformed steel fibers were employed in a high strength mortar with very fine silica sand to decreasing the crack width by generating higher interfacial bond strength. The width of micro-cracks, strongly affected by the type of fiber and sand, clearly produced th...
